2 Year Old Pictures

I am a bit behind on getting Bella's 2 year old pictures taken and posted. We went today and although she is not a 'picture' Princess...she would actually smile a bit with prompting today. And said every word the photographer asked her to say from 'cheeseburger' to 'Happy Birthday'. And each word created a unique facial expression. And today she would follow directions. So different from the Christmas pictures....couldn't keep her in a spot hardly long enough to snap a shot.

And I am thinking that she is going to be a tomboyish....girly girl. She loves to play in the sand but is really in to purses and shoes (girl after my heart) and bracelets. Notice that she is wearing a bracelet in the photos. She loves to wear it and show it off. At first, she would slide it off and on. Now, she just sports it. And cries to wear her flipflops.

She is now counting to 15 and today counted backwards from 10 to 1. She has an Elmo movie that they count backwards in...guess she picked it up from there. She walked into the kitchen this am, Dora was on, she looked up and said 'Hola Dora' just like she had been doing it forever. She never ceases to amaze me. Which leads me into what I found this am when I changed her morning diaper.......I unsnapped and unzipped her footy pj's....and she didn't have on a diaper.....and I know that I put one on her after her bath the night before. A closer look found the diaper wedged down at her left ankle....inside the pj leg. Who knows how it got there....I laughed till I cried.

Father's Day at School

At Bella's school on Friday, they planned a special snack time for the 'dads'. Carrots, cupcakes, bananas and juice were shared with the special dads. Bella was still asleep when Keith got there and he had to wake her up. She was so excited to see him. Bella loves her daddy. When he is home, she wakes up asking for him and says her prayers with him before she goes to bed. Such special moments in time.

Happy Fathers Day, Keith! We love you very much!

2 year checkup

Isabella went for her her 2 year checkup yesterday, no shots, whoo hoo!!!! She weighs in at 26 1/4 pounds (45th percentile) and is 34 1/4 inches tall (62nd percentile). She doesn't have to have whole milk any longer, 2% will work. And if she drinks juice, to dilute it with water. She is now counting to 15 and will use 3-4 word sentences. Some new phrases/words, 'I don't like that', 'Cool', I color other side'. And she can identify left and right. She loves music and dancing. And will color, draw, mark on paper for longer periods of time. And is beginning to remained focused long enough to watch a movie, not just short programs. Where did our little baby go?

Vacation (too) quickly draws to a close

What a great last day. It started out cloudy and cool..... After Bellas nap today, we went out and joined the folks on the beach enjoying the Beach Music Festival. As you can see from the pictures Bella danced and played in the sand (she now likes the sand). Then it was in to get cleaned up and out for dinner. Bella passed up Mac and Cheese for 'Chicken Wings' with Blue Cheese Dressing. Then out for more rides...the girl loves the park rides, even the 'Scrambler'. She was too small for several of the rides which meant she couldn't ride them, which made her really angry, she cried. But, the consolation was cotton candy. The tears went away immediately.

The vacation is quickly drawing to a close. A great time has been had by all and we would just stay here if we could.....but, gotta get back to work so that we can come back again in August.

The day started out a bit 'wet' but was not a washout. The wind has really been blowing today. The pool at the hotel is more shaded than where we were earlier in the week and we thought it might be a bit cool so we opted to shop today. We are off to have some more fun tonight. Bella is wanting to hit the rides again. There will be shagging on the Boardwalk and the Beach Music Festival tomorrow. Wish you could all be here!!!!!

Now the evening is drawing to a close. Bella is tucked in with yet another stuffed animal (frog) that daddy won throwing darts at balloons. She has danced in the streets, rode the park rides again and again and ate fruit at the bar, fixed especially for her by Todd the Bartender. Tomorrow will be our last full day at the beach. :( But, we hope to come back again in August. :)

Day 4--Carolina Beach--1st Amusement Park Ride

With everything packed up this morning, we headed a bit further south to Carolina Beach. It was kinda a laid back sorta day. We had stayed by the pool for the last 3 days, we took the day off to walk around and sight see a bit. I guess you can see that wherever Bella goes, she makes new friends. We walked into a florist and she walked out with flowers, just cause she is sooooo cute. She had her first shaved ice today too, blue raspberry, yummy. Yes, it was for Bella, but she just doesn't like anything that is really cold. Lucky me, no messy ice cream clothes.

And then is was her first amusement park rides, the airplanes and Ferris wheel. She loved them both and she kept saying, I ride. She is having a blast and we are too. Tomorrow, the weather is looking a bit iffy....we will just have to play it by ear. We may do some shopping, Bella needs some new shoes. She has outgrown everything but her Crocs and Flip-flops. But, just like mom, she is happy with little to no shoes.

We were up bright and early this am for our trip to the NC Aquarium. It was about 45 min from where we were staying. We got there and thru the exhibits before the tour buses began to roll in. Bella loved all of the fishes and waved at everything. And she finally got to see and touch a crab, whoo hoo. And I got her a stuffed crab at the gift shop. Back in the car and on the road for 5 min and she was sound asleep and snoring. Of course, it was her nap time. She is so good with nap and bedtimes, even on vacation. And while we were on the road back to the hotel, we decided to extend out trip another 3 days and come back on Sunday. We will be moving from the hotel that we are in to another in Carolina Beach. On Saturday, the 24th annual Carolina Beach Music Festival will take place. We will be staying right on the beach where it will be taking place, should be a blast. We will be missing the CAS picnic and my class reunion. But, I just couldn't pass on another couple of days at the beach with the family. :)

I added the last few photos just before logging off...at the hotel we are staying at, on Wednesdays, they show a movie by the pool. You can either watch from the balcony or go sit by the pool.

Batter up!

Happy Birthday! sweet Isabella. We stayed by the pool alllll day. Bella even napped by the pool too. She ate her Birthday lunch, Lays chips, rice crispy bar, blueberries, and pink lemonade. And finished it off with a piece of her Dora Birthday Cake. The local Harris Teeter didn't have the Sesame Street kit for the cake so we had to use the back up design, Dora. Which turned out really good. We had a special dinner and went for a walk down the fishing pier to find some fish for Bella to see. And we finally got to see a crab....at the local Surf Shop.

Tomorrow we are off to the NC Aquarium, which should be really enjoyable for all.
